Elisa Dominese nominated for the Johan Grievink PSE Award

Den Dolder (NL), May 11, 2021

We are very proud te announce that our employee Elisa Dominese PDEng, Product Development Engineer at our department of Innovation and Development, is nominated for the prestigious Johan Grievink PSE Award 2021.

Elisa recieved her nomination for her thesis “Design Solution for In-Situ Replacement of Coaxial Cable Networks”.

“I’m really impressed and very honoured to be nominated for this prestigious award”, said Elisa in her first reaction.

Elisa has made her thesis, which was also carried out at NextivityFiber, for her graduation from the PDEng program of the TU Delft Chemical Product Design program. This project is partly the basis of our groundbreaking innovation FiberX-ID, with which existing copper telecom connections are transformed into high-quality fiber connections.

At this moment, the jury is evaluating all the nominations, and will announce the winner at the PSE-NL Summer event (formal announcement of this event and details will follow). This winner will be able to give an extensive presentation of his or her solution during the Winter Event of PSE-NL in December 2021. More information will follow later on our website.

The prestigious Johan Grievink PSE Award is an initiative of PSE-NL (Process Systems Engineering in the Netherlands) and has been awarded annually since 2020 for an excellent (MSc / BSc / PDEng / PhD) thesis on process systems engineering, which makes an important contribution delivered to research and / or practice in PSE. In addition to a certificate, this award also includes a cash prize of € 1,000 and is presented during a special session of the PSE-NL or NPS (The Dutch process technologist conference).

PSE-NL is a knowledge network that aims to provide a platform for sharing best practice examples and scientific advancements in PSE, gained by academics and industry specialists, as well as systems-focused process technology & operations managers.

Johan Grievink is an emeritus professor of process systems engineering of Delft University. Over the time span of his career Prof. Grievink has played an important role in shaping the field of PSE (process systems engineering) and CAPE (Computer aided process engineering) in the Netherlands, and training and educating many generations of chemical engineering students. His focus has been on interactions between product and process design and design and operability aspects of intensified sustainable processes. His name is nationally and internationally become a synonym to “PSE in the Netherlands”.
